Making It & Making Plans

I survived my first week as a full-time student! :D

Well, nearly so since it’s Thursday night and not Friday for me yet, but baring an asteroid slamming Ohio, I think I’ll make it safely into the weekend.

Most wonderfully I managed to do all my homework in between classes or in the evenings so that my weekend is actually free to DO WHATEVER I WANT! (Amazing what you can accomplish when you don’t have a job!) And, oh, do I have plans…

  • Jazz will be kicking off the weekend with his scrumbdilliumptious lasagna and we will have wine with it too ;)
  • Friday night and Saturday morning will be spent ravishing my husband — you have been warned.
  • The Family Channel is having a marathon of Disney movies like Cinderella and Aladdin on Saturday afternoon; I have already begun planning out the nest I will occupy in front of the TV for the duration and shall not be disturbed (except for appropriately timed kisses).
  • In between and possible all day Sunday, I will read books. I’ve barely made a dent in my Christmas books and now there are even more new books to read. (The exception was Anne Tenino’s Too Stupid To Live. I loves my Anne.)

That’s my plans and I’m sticking to ’em! :)

Oh! Stop by on Sunday for a 6-Sentence featuring more about Splinters. Hint: I used my private journal entry as research… ;)

  1. Way to go Thorny! Great use of your time getting that homework done before the weekend. I was able to ‘guide’ hehe my son through elementary and the first few years of high school on how to get the homework done before the weekend, eventually it became something he did on his own and whenever possible he did it right through his University years. School and grades are important but if you don’t balance that out with fun time everything suffers. So have a really great weekend ravishing your hubby and watching movies you’ll be ready to start the whole process again on Monday! ;-)

Never doubted for a minute you could make it through the first week, Thorny. And huge congrats for using the new ‘freed-up’ time to its best avantage by getting the homework out of the way! Now you have time for the REALLY important things, like the ravishing and the watching movies. :)

Definitely looking forward to your next tease of ‘Splinters’.

  3. Great job, Thorny! I am very behind on the one class I have now, and two more start at the end of the month, so I am impressed and jealous. (But you didn’t mention, are you enjoying the classes? Or is that grist for another post?)

Second, if I may be candid with you, I am a little disturbed at the thought of your marathon of debauchery followed immediately by a marathon of Disney. I am concerned that when the warm, er, hot front of the former hits the sweet front of the latter, you will have a major weather event in your home. Like a massive tornado…of gumdrops.

And yes, I, too, ignored responsibilities for Too Stupid To Live, and it was totally worth it.

Finally, have fun! and I am very much looking forward to more Splinters.

OMG! I LOL’d so hard I hit my head on the back of my chair. Everyone’s looking at me too  Gumdrop tornado… Should be quite the tasty storm ;)

  4. Ugh, my only problem with the Family Channel is having to sit through the commercials. I’d rather just put the DVDs in my 6-disc changer and watch them back to back. By the time I’m done, I can probably watch one or two more movies than they play during the day, and I don’t have to get up much.

    Enjoy your weekend, guys! =)

  5. Congratulations on starting off your term all organized and productive and stuff – nothing like a great incentive to get the homework out of the way ;) I won’t bother to tell you to enjoy your weekend because I don’t see how you could fail to do so. Looking forward to the “Splinters” excerpt.

I like how Jazz also benefits from you not working lol. Your new schedule sounds perfect. And yeah, Too Stupid to Live is pure genius. So much so that I stalked Anne on FB regarding my night & day after reading it since she kept me up till 3:00AM. I loved her dedication ;) and it just got better after that. I know it’ll remain one of my faves of 2013. And another great cover by LC Chase.

  7. Congrats on making it through your first week! First weeks are always a bit tough bc you’re still getting used to new classes. It sounds like you have a wonderful weekend planned, better than mine at any rate! ;). Cannot wait for that excerpt!
